Orange Alchemy Content Labs empowers small businesses with impactful brand and digital marketing solutions to increase revenue through improved communication, high quality brand visuals, and streamlined systems. Our data driven strategic approach combines in-depth industry analysis with modern marketing practices to deliver a unique, on-brand solution for each of our clients. As a small business, we understand the importance of achieving genuine impact through our work, and we know how difficult it can be to develop and maintain a professional online presence, which is essential in 2024.
In this case study, we explore our collaboration with CleanCo, a reputable cleaning services company based in Lubbock, Texas. Through strategic rebranding and website optimization, we aimed to enhance CleanCo's online presence while preserving its legacy and values.
Since 1988, CleanCo has been dedicated to providing first-class cleaning services to residential and commercial clients in Lubbock and surrounding areas. With a focus on customer care and quality service, CleanCo offers a wide range of services, including residential carpet cleaning, commercial janitorial services, and commercial construction cleanups.
CleanCo had reached out to us because they wanted to update their online presence, and ensure that potential customers visiting their site weren’t put off by their outdated materials. They were experiencing common issues such as the website not being optimised for mobile, producing a poor user experience, and without a full-time designer, their brand materials lacked cohesion throughout their online touch points.
They were also concerned that they were potentially losing customers due to their target audience not fully understanding the value and specifics of each of their services.
After our review, we advised that we start with the following steps:
1. Fresh Brand Design Guidelines:
The primary issue with the website design was that it was created without a clear brand foundation, and so there was a mix of styles creating a poor first impression to site visitors. By providing practical rules around typography, colour palette and iconography, we have a guidebook to ensure that all future brand materials would be recognisable as part of CleanCo.
2. New Website (Built in Webflow):
Another issue we identified was the setup of the CleanCo website, which was built in Wix a long time ago, and was looking a bit long in the tooth. Visitors needed to know if CleanCo could provide the specific cleaning services they needed and be provided with an easy way to get in touch. We knew that a new website structure and specifically designed flow would greatly improve the user experience for visitors and make them much more likely to find the information they need quickly, and get in contact. In addition, optimising the website for mobile would be essential in 2024 to make sure users have a excellent experience on any device, and ensure that the website load times are lightning fast.
3. Services Marketing Assets:
CleanCo were using text blocks to communicate their services to their clients, which often causes site visitors to feel like it’s too much effort and leave to find an easier option. Creating visual assets, implementing photos of services in action, and providing a text-image combination across the site would greatly improve user engagement, experience and interest. In addition, we wanted to make these assets interactive to add an extra element of interest.
4. Website Copy:
Communication is key, and in order to effectively engage site visitors, we would need to rewrite the website copy to save as much time as possible for potential customers to get the information they needed and book a call.
5. Client Testimonials:
CleanCo is a standout company with many happy customers, and we didn’t feel that this was being celebrated enough on the site. This is a great way to show off your success and help potential customers know that they will have a great experience working with your company.
Upgrading these areas would provide the essential foundation for achieving a professional presence and also provide the building blocks to later tackle social media page, marketing campaigns and other online touchpoints.
After an initial consultation with Kassi from CleanCo, we agreed that this would be great direction for the chapter of the CleanCo brand, and got straight to work with the first task
Creating the brand design guidelines is essential for achieving the design cohesion needed for building trust with new customers. CleanCo already had a logo they had been using for 30+ years, and while they wanted to update and modernize the brand, they were concerned that losing this logo would lose a part of CleanCo’s identity and heritage. They also wanted to ensure that the rebrand didn’t alienate their loyal customer base and come across as a fancy takeover - this is an established and proud family business from the Levelland area, and they wanted to make sure not to lose that element.
With this in mind, we created the new brand design guidelines with the original logo at the center to ensure that all materials were both modern and would fit perfectly with the old style.
After the brand design guidelines, the focus shifted to using those guidelines to create new and impactful marketing materials to clearly communicate CleanCo’s services. This would help potential customers get they information they needed in an efficient way, and would have impact regardless of what kind of learner they were.
We conducted a review of CleanCo’s services, and collaborated with Kassi and her team to help build a system that would make it as easy as possible for potential clients to understand how each service would help them specifically.
Once we had that brief in place, we used the brand design guidelines to create a card based system where each service had it’s own card, which included a photo with the service in action, condensed informative text and a guiding icon to make the information both quickly skimmable and practical.
We later used these assets to create interactive cards on the website to improve engagement rates and accessibility on both mobile and desktop.
Now we had several foundational pieces in place, we were able to move on to building the framework of the new website with the focus on lighting fast loading speeds, a great user experience and a website flow that would maximize the chances of visitors making contact with CleanCo.
With the family focus in mind, we organized a photoshoot with Kassi and the CleanCo team so we could ensure visitors would understand that CleanCo is a proud and personable company that values family, and local connections at its core. This had to be the hero section of the page to celebrate CleanCo’s local roots.
For the rest of the website, we focused on creating a user journey that would help them find the information they needed as quickly as possible, and get in touch.
As we know, ‘a confused customer never buys.’
Working with Kassi and her team, we arranged testimonials with past clients and incorporated them into the site, and wrote new copy for all website sections with a focus on clarity.
We put ourselves in the client’s shoes and created a comprehensive FAQ for each service area that CleanCo provides to ensure that any objections or additional information that they need could be found on the website without being overwhelmed by too much information.

When we first started reviewing the CleanCo project, we imagined creating a whole new look for the company, and were surprised when Kassi told us that it would be essential to keep the old logo. As we worked on updating the brand guidelines with the logo at the center, it became clear that this decision was key in preserving the special and unique history that CleanCo has built over the 30+ years it has been in business. This personal brand point was one of the biggest strengths of the project and something that we will be looking to incorporate wherever possible in the future.
